Banana oat breakfast smoothie

A nutrient dense start to the day that will keep you fuelled until lunchtime, this simple and delicious smoothie provides you with protein, fibre, iron, magnesium, calcium, and vitamins C and B6.

Ingredients
1 banana
1 cup milk of your choice
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cups oats (soaked in water overnight or for a few minutes in boiled water)
handful of almonds (preferably soaked in water overnight or for a few minutes in boiling water)
1 teaspoon cinnamon or mixed spice

Method
Drain and rinse the almonds and oats through a sieve.

Oats and almonds soaked overnight


Add all ingredients to the blender and mix until a smooth consistency is reached.

Serve and enjoy!

Vegan variation
Simply replace the honey with one pitted date.
