'Chakra' is a Sanskrit word meaning 'wheel' or 'disk', and is an integral thought in Ayurveda, meditation and yoga.
There are seven main chakras in the body - from the base of the spine to the crown of the head - corresponding in location with major nerve centres. These key points are believed to hold a 'vortex' of subtle energy - ideally kept free-flowing and in balance.
Today we will look at the crown chakra, Sahasrara.

Its colour is violet or white, and bija mantra is Om or Aum.
