With the beginning of the year behind us and our thoughts of New Year's resolutions past, we can really get down to the business of living.

But first, why not cleanse your home, your garden, your everything? Release the negative energies that have built up over the past year. Change up your energy, clear out any blockages and make way for new thought processes and invigoration.

Clear out the blocks!

Many of you may already clean out your energy on a regular basis, by way of detoxes and diets. How about extending that regular maintenance beyond the body and mind, to include your space as well?

For inner cleansing of your mind why not start meditation to cleanse your spirit? It helps you to slow down your mind, taking your thoughts off everything for a while, helping you with a new perspective.

Let in the new beautiful energies!

It is the same with the energy that the items you own carry around. Feng Shui is a great process that can help you declutter your space inside and out, bringing in positive energy.

If it doesn't serve you anymore, get rid of that box of stuff that you haven't looked at since you moved in. If you haven't used it, worn it, or found a purpose for it in the last year, chances are you are better off without it cluttering up your living space. Put an advertisement on Gumtree and reduce the items you no longer need, give them to Vinnies, or have a garage sale. Purge.

Clear out heavy negatives that bring you down!

Then give everything a good clean, including your garden.

Trim up the overgrown, pull out the dead plants, replace them with something new that has a vibrant, lively energy to it. Rejuvenate your garden with color and life. Clean out all dead leaves and clear pathways of obstacles, making a clear flowing space. Make it shine. Make it fresh and bring in some great new energy to your yard and home.

Add some color!

If you have hedges or shrubs that are overgrown they may be blocking the flow of energy. Trim them up or down so the energy can flow around you.

Any negative energy will be dissipated, you will have a loving space.

The same goes for the inside of your home. If you find you are sitting in your kitchen and arguing all the time with your mate, there will be an abundance of negative energy in the room. Clear it out, unblock the flow of energy so the negative energies can dissipate, allowing new, more positive energies to fill the space. That chair that is sitting askew by the door is a stopping point - it may just need to be moved elsewhere. Let things flow freely and openly.

Create a lighter energy!

If you have high traffic sounds in and around your space you can give it a new vibration by using wind chimes. They drown out the sound of the traffic, give off a pleasing vibration, and sound lovely at the same time.

The same goes for the inside of your being. We are energy, carry all kinds of it with us, and unless we release the old and stale we will be stuck with it. There are all kinds of books on energy clearing and ways to help yourself and your environment.

Clean out your energy barriers and live a healed life rife with possibilities for the new year.
