I have purchased lip scrubs before, and they work really well; I decided it might be easy enough to try and make my own. This lip scrub can be made using three simple ingredients that you can find in most homes. Brown sugar works as an exfoliant, and the organic coconut oil is nourishing and moisturising.

You will need

What you will need
Use good quality ingredients

1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil (solid not liquefied)
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Small glass container with lid (try an old lip gloss pot or the tiny jam jars you can buy)
Bowl & spoon to mix ingredients

In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with two firmly packed tablespoons of brown sugar and mix until it is well combined and forms a paste.
Transfer your lip scrub into your glass container with lid.

What you will need
Lip scrub consistency looks like this

Make sure to label the jar and add the date so you know when it was made. This lip scrub will last only up to approximately 2 weeks if kept refrigerated, which is because it does not have any preservatives.
Before each use, place desired amount of scrub into a small bowl or container and let the scrub sit out and adjust to room temperature to soften up before applying to your lips.
Using a generous amount, apply the scrub to your lips in a circular motion.
Once you have scrubbed your lips, wet a face washer with warm water and gently remove the scrub.
Now that your lips have been scrubbed they will be soft and smooth.

Lip scrub can be used up to two times a week. It is recommended to do no more often than this, so it is best to only make small batches of lip scrub.

Small glass jars such as the mini Nutella jars you can get or the mini jams are good for this. Or any 30g container you have.
