Easy steps for healthier hair

There's a reason that the hair products and the hairdressing industry makes a fortune. Hair health is, for many women, just as important as makeup. We all want beautiful hair. The best way to attain healthy hair is to keep it simple.

These basic simple steps can be followed to achieve beautiful hair:
1. Use good basic products.
2. Eat well.
3. Don't over do it.

Good products do not have to be crazy expensive. The first and most empowering thing you can do is simply to accept the hair you have. Curly haired people will want it straight, dark hair will want lighter and lighter darker etc. No matter the hair type you have, you're best off accepting and working with it. If it's straight, curly, thin, or grey, enjoy that. There's no use wishing and wanting for something you don't have.

Using chemical means to achieve anything other than what you already have will only damage your hair, cost you a lot of money, and it's still not likely to attain the end goal. Your hair is what it is, accept it, be happy with it.

It's also important to eat healthy for your hair too (and the rest of your body!) Simply put, good healthy foods are good for your hair. We all know that junk food is called junk food for good reason. Foods rich in vitamin E and natural oils like nuts, olive oil, salmon, and avocado are all good for your hair and help it maintain shine.

Don't use too many products and don't overwash it. Most shampoos and conditioners contain chemicals that can dry and dull your hair. Some even contain wax to give the illusion of shine, but leave a build up which over time will seal your hair and keep moisture out - try a natural remedy for natural shine. Try to avoid using too many products and only wash your hair when you absolutely need to, or try the 'no poo' method.

Finally, avoid excessive colour, perms and other harsh chemical products. The closer you allow your hair to be to its natural state, the more beautiful it will be. Take a moment think about a child's hair. Don't they have great hair? It's shiny, bouncy and just beautiful. Think for a moment of all the things they put on their hair. Exactly.

Remember to be kind to your hair and not pulling, breaking or stressing it in day to day activities. The kinder you are to it, the lovelier it'll be for you.
