Wake up and enjoy the day, starting with a coffee infused shower scrub

I've noticed that currently a lot of body washes and scrubs on the market contain caffeine as an active ingredient.

This is because caffeine is easily absorbed through the skin, contains powerful antioxidants and has anti inflammatory properties. It is also said to help constrict blood vessels and to firm up the skin.

The good news is you can easily make your own caffeine body scrub at home, with just a few simple ingredients.

You will need:

2 cups of finely ground coffee beans
1/2 cup of sugar
2-3 tablespoons of almond or coconut oil
Few drops of 100% grapefruit essential oil (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and store in a sealed container. Rub on the skin while in the shower for a thorough cleanse and pick-me-up.

The grapefruit oil is optional but is good for detoxing the skin. You could also add another oil such as peppermint, which aids alertness.
