It's a crazy busy world, and by the end of the day most of us are too tired to do anything positive for ourselves. It is essential that we take time out each day for some self-care - and this applies to men as well as women.
There is nothing selfish about self-care. We don't do anyone any favours when we don't take the time to recharge and rejuvenate, least of all ourselves. The benefits of self-care include reduced stress, a decreased risk of chronic disease, improved relations with others, and the increased self esteem and satisfaction that comes from intentionally doing positive things for ourselves.
Self-care can be as simple as choosing healthy foods, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, indulging occasionally in whatever floats your boat, spending time with loved ones, getting a massage, a long hot soak in the tub (try a DIY detox bath), making and using your own natural beauty products, meditation, a DIY day spa, or spending time in nature. It is basically making the choice, and taking the time to do anything that benefits our health and well-being, because you deserve to be healthy and happy.
