Happiness Tip #4: Move!

Leading a sedentary lifestyle is all too easy these days. And while we all know that exercise releases feel-good hormones, helps prevent the onset of chronic disease, and is a key contributing factor to general health and wellness, finding motivation and getting into a regular routine of movement can be challenging.

If your job has you tied to a desk all day, regular movement becomes particularly important. Try putting a 'move' prompt note on your work computer to remind you to get up and move your body as often as possible, even if it's just to have a big stretch.

The trick to developing a regular routine is to start small and ease into it, you'll find the more you do, the better you'll feel, and the more you'll want to do. You will also need to find the very best way to exercise for you. At Healthy Hints we are huge fans of the morning dance party, it's a fabulous way to kick start your day and get your chi moving. By starting the day on a positive and energetic note, you're more likely to continue your day in the same vein.
