Happiness Tip #8: Random acts of kindness

Did you know that even the smallest act of kindness can generate positive emotions and happiness? Have you ever let a car into the queue during peak hour, or helped an elderly person with their groceries, and noticed an instant lift in your mood? Scientific research now supports a positive correlation between performing a kindness for others and happiness.

Ironically there is a positive emotional reward when we do for others without any thought of reward, or what's in it for us, but rather simply because we can. Perform a simple act of kindness for someone else every day for the next week and experience the positive rewards. Combined with the practice of all the happiness tips so far, you should really be starting to feel great!
