During the warmer months, it is so refreshing to sip on a herbal tea that is cleansing and soothing for the digestion. It's not at all difficult to grow these Asian inspired herbs in individual pots, or even in your own backyard, then you know just how fresh the ingredients really are.
Once you've grown some healthy lemongrass, mint and ginger plants, you can begin harvesting their abundant leaves and roots.
Fresh Mint, Lemongrass, Ginger
Bring the filtered water to boil, then add the lemongrass, mint and ginger root.
Chop the herbs
Simmer in a saucepan for five minutes to extract the healing properties of the herbs. Ginger has long been used as a digestive tonic in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the lemongrass and mint leaves contribute a refreshing, light flavor.
Boil the herbs
Pour the cleansing brew straight into cups, or maybe a tea pot for serving either hot or cold. Enjoy the healing benefits with every sip and add some honey if you have an especially sweet tooth.
