I love rice milk. It is my favourite alternative of non-dairy milk on the market. I recently stumbled across a recipe which is an easy, organic, and honest way of making milk for all the family.
Ingredients
10 cups of filtered water
This recipe produces 1 litre of rice milk.
It can be stored in the fridge up to a week - just like the carton stuff, but is a damn sight cheaper, and more natural too.
Method
Wash the rice in a sieve.
Place in a large bowl and cover completely with the water.
Add the vanilla and salt and warm over a simmering heat for 30 minutes.
Once heated the rice should 'puff' up substantially.
Transfer this to a blender.
Blitz until completely smooth.
Pour this blended rice into a strainer/fine gauze cloth and allow to strain for 3 hours.
Once strained, pour into a glass and enjoy!
