How Do You Convert Vitamin Measurements?

On multi-vitamin packs, the label indicates how much of a particular vitamin is present, but different brands use different systems. Some calculate using mg and some use ug, and others iu or mcg. What do these stand for and how do you convert the two in order to make a comparison?
