Kale is something that I have a love-hate relationship with. I love it because it is a superfood which is packed full of incredible nutrients like Vitamin K, Vitamin A and Vitamin C, and I hate it because I haven't found a recipe that I like to have it in, until now that is.
I tried throwing a nice combination of healthy foods together and was pleased at the result which is a delicious and nutritious breakfast smoothie which will provide you with fuel for your morning.
Ingredients:
1 small handful of blueberries
1 piece of
kale (leaves only)
1 tablespoon LSA (ground linseed, sunflower and almond mix)
1 cup almond milk (you could substitute for your favourite milk)
Method:
Wash and pick leaves off strawberries and put them into the blender along with blueberries.
Wash kale and tear strips off to add to the berries in the blender.
Put almond milk and water in last and blend for at least 1 minute. Kale needs this long to break down as it can be gritty if not broken down enough and is then unpleasant to drink.
A beautiful, smooth green drink which is pleasant to drink (it tastes so good even my sweet loving 5 year old drank it). Here's to your health!
