Do you feel sometimes like you are just working to pay bills, that there really isn't any purpose to what you are doing? What if you could turn that around so you feel good, love your life and enjoy yourself?
Open yourself to the possibilities!
Goals have a way of making people feel accomplished. The goal itself doesn't really matter. It is in the doing, setting your sites on the future, on accomplishing something you set out to do.
Learn to paint!
It can be anything. Do you want to learn another language? There are online courses. Do you want to learn to play tennis, be a writer? How about taking a trip?
You can learn languages online!
The realm of possibilities is immeasurable. The only limit is the one you place on yourself.
Get yourself set up with a piece of paper and pen, computer if you prefer and set to task.
First write down the things you want to do. Make them attainable so they can be accomplished.
It is all well and good if you want to become a pilot. This takes a lot of time and money. You only need to realise this and plan accordingly. So planning things that can be accomplished in shorter amounts of time is important. Don't stop there either.
Maybe you want to take a trip somewhere outside of Australia but you don't have the money. You could have money transferred from your bank account into a savings account so you can save a little at a time. Eventually you won't miss this and before you know it you are going on holiday.
Set yourself some goals and travel to distant lands!
You can also plan smaller trips to get away. Perhaps you can go to a city within Australia, it's easily attainable, you don't need to save thousands of dollars and it can be achieved within a couple months or sooner. Keep an eye on the sales, certain times of the year flights are cheaper and there are lots of choices.
Maybe you can drive instead, using the money for petrol. Stay in a hotel or backpackers. You will love what you have accomplished, enjoying yourself at the same time.
The next thing you want to do is itemise your goals, putting goals in order of how long it will take to achieve them, which are more important or how you feel about a certain goal.
The first goal on your list might be to go out for dinner to a nice restaurant. Pick a restaurant, set a date, save a little from each pay cheque until you can go. It will feel special, you will have achieved a goal and you will see the value of the whole exercise.
Next maybe you want to take up some kind of sport, yoga, become a ball room dancer. Set a time you can sit down and research. Give yourself a time allotment, maybe you start taking the lessons within a couple of weeks. More helpful information can be found at Zen Habits
When you have items crossed off the goal list you will start to notice how good life can be, you are saving, playing tennis, speaking Latin and before you know it you are on your way to places yet discovered. Realising your goals is a good way to improve your outlook.
The sky is the limit to what you can accomplish!
