Coconut oil is made up mostly of smaller medium-chain fatty acids, so the oil of the coconut penetrates hair more deeply and faster than other conditioners.
Some uses for coconut oil include using it as a leave-in conditioner, a hair detangler, and you can also use it to help defeat dandruff.
For a leave-in conditioner simply melt and cool coconut oil and massage it into the hair, leaving it on for 2 hours, rinse, and then wash with a shampoo to remove residue.
To use as a hair detangler use a natural organic virgin coconut oil as it will not leave any residue. Melt and cool the coconut oil then gently massage the coconut oil into the hair working from the ends to the roots. Then brush through with a comb or hair brush.
As a dandruff treatment, melt and cool the coconut oil and massage it into the scalp. Wrap your hair in a towel or shower cap and leave in overnight. Wash out with regular shampoo and conditioner.
Coconut oil for your skin
Coconut oil works as a makeup remover. Simply melt coconut oil and allow it to cool. Dip a cotton bud or a dry makeup remover pad and wipe over your face to remove makeup. Afterwards, wash your face with a washer and some warm water.
Coconut oil is effective in increasing hydration and reducing water loss in really dry skin. Simply melt coconut oil and allow it to cool, then rub coconut oil into the skin.
