There are many products on the market you can buy to boost your energy. Some of this include guarana tablets, energy drinks and even having a chocolate bar. These options can be full of sugar and not something recommended having on a regular basis.

There any many natural ways to boost your energy and I have listed a few for you to try.

Green smoothies
Green smoothie with spirulina

Spirulina is a fresh water algae high in protein which contains vitamin B and is a good source of antioxidants. It comes in powder or tablet form. You can add a teaspoon of spirulina powder to your smoothies, or take 2 spirulina tablets each day to boost your energy intake.

Oranges a good source of vitamin C

Oranges have high levels of vitamin C which makes you feel less tired. Oranges also contain thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, other vitamins and minerals.

Oranges can be added to a fruit or savoury salad, used in a fresh juice or eaten on their own. Freshly squeezed juice is the best, as store bought juices can be high in sugar.

Green smoothies
Blueberries - one of my favourite fruits

Blueberries can be a great source of energy as they are low in sugar and high in fibre. They can be added to a smoothie or juice, tossed through a fruit salad, mixed in with yoghurt or even just on their own as a snack.

Green smoothies
Baby Spinach

Spinach is low in calories, is full of amino acids and contains protein and iron. A great way to use spinach is to create a salad with the leaves, like this Sunshine orange and spinach salad. If you are not big on salad, you can add a few leaves to your smoothie mix before blending.
