Whether you're a rice, quinoa, buckwheat, spelt or barley fan, a serve of cooked grains make a perfect addition to any meal.

When cooking, grains absorb a significant amount of water, so it's important to keep pans topped up.

If they come out soggy or waterlogged after draining, spread over a large plate or lined baking tray and leave to cool.

The excess water will evaporate leaving your grains perfectly cooked and tender.
