Quick Tip #154: Eating for optimal digestion

To get the most out of any meal there are a few simple tips you can follow which will enhance digestion and aid assimilation of vital nutrients.
Eat slowly and chew each mouthful at least 30 times.
Eat mindfully in a quiet and peaceful environment and in a designated eating spot (no sitting on the couch watching TV).
Don't drink liquid with your meals or for an hour afterwards.
Avoid coffee an hour either side of a meal (can interfere with nutrient absorption).
Don't eat to the point of bursting, just until you feel satisfied - if you're eating mindfully and quietly you'll be more aware of when this is.
Enjoy and savour each and every mouthful!
