Quick Tip #28: Natural relief for a blocked nose

Blocked nose due to a cold is highly disturbing and makes breathing difficult. Inhalers and tablets may help but they are not short of side effects.

A homemade remedy helps here. Take a fistful of carom seeds (also known as ajwain seeds) in a pan and dry roast them. You can inhale the fumes while roasting. Tie the seeds tightly in a muslin cloth and keep inhaling at regular intervals. The carom seeds have a strong odour which helps unblock the nose. Carom seeds can be purchased at Indian grocers. So next time you have a cold, try this for natural relief.
