Quick Tip #33: Home remedies for cracked heels

Most commercial aids for cracked heals contain harmful chemicals that aggravate the skin. Here are some simple home remedies to help:

• Soak your feet in warm water with lemon juice added to it for 10 -15 minutes, then rub with a pumice stone or loofah to remove the dryness, then repeat the soak but replace the lemon with honey, which has antibacterial properties and acts as a moisturising agent. It will give a soothing effect to the legs and encourage new skin development.

•Applying coconut oil or a paste of banana and avocado on the affected areas will help soothe them and prevent pain while walking.
