Quick Tip #36: Natural relief for mouth ulcers

A mouth ulcer occurs when the tissue lining the mouth breaks down and swells. It can occur for reasons such as indigestion, an infection, pharmaceuticals, or most commonly by biting the cheek accidentally. They are irritating as they make eating and drinking very uncomfortable.

For immediate soothing relief, apply honey or peppermint or butter on the affected parts.

Drink fresh fruit juice such as orange and lime, which are rich in Vitamin C and folic acid.

Gargle 3-4 times a day with salt water or with a baking soda dilution.
