Here is a fruit which besides being scrumptiously delicious, is an excellent source of fibre, vitamins and minerals, and can help cure many ailments.

Fig contains vitamin B6 which boosts your mood, helps lower cholesterol, aids PMT and morning sickness, and prevents water retention.

Being rich in fibre, fig is ideal for weight loss, creates a feeling of satiety, regulates the digestive system and alleviates Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Fig is rich in calcium which promotes bone density and guards against osteoporosis.
