Probiotic drinks can be a healthy addition to the diet and of great benefit to your digestive health in particular. Many people mistakenly turn to Yakult in the quest for a palatable probiotic drink.

Yakult contains high levels of sugar which is entirely counter-productive to improving gut health. Any potential benefits of Yakult are far outweighed by the sugar content which only feeds any 'bad' bacteria already present in the body, and can further increase your susceptibility to disease.

Your best option is to make your own kefir or purchase kefir from a health food store.
