There is something incredibly homely and comforting about a thick spread of jam across warm toast, or dolloped atop steaming porridge.

Unfortunately, however, commercial jams can actually be loaded with sugar and preservatives, far from the original source - fresh berries.

So next time you crave some jam, why not mash some fresh or frozen berries and mix with a drop of natural honey or maple syrup to sweeten?

Not only will you get that luscious sweetness and flavour, but you will benefit from all the nutritional goodness of the fruit!
