, this simple dhal of red lentils is both
easy to digest
I recommend serving with a portion of
steamed brown rice
warmed pita bread
, but feel free to enjoy however you wish. I sometimes top this dish with half a sliced avocado for some feel-good fats.
1 cup red lentils (dry)
3 teaspoons ginger, grated
1 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 brown onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
In a large saucepan, place the

and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and stir, simmering, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
