I recently burnt myself taking a tray out of the oven. It was painful and really stung, even after I'd cooled the initial burn with a few ice cubes.
When such a situation arises, I recommend the following natural ointment, which helped to sooth and cool the burn immediately.
1 tablespoon of shea butter
3 drops of peppermint oil
1 teaspoon of lavender castor oil
Add all of the ingredients to a bowl.
Mash together and combine.
Store in the fridge in a glass jar until you're ready to use it.
The cold 'ointment' is lovely on a stinging burn as is the naturally cooling peppermint oil. Do not exceed the dosage of peppermint oil - it is potent.
