There seems to be a stigma attached to admitting one has dandruff, but the truth is, many people do suffer from an itchy, flaky scalp.

Most people will seek out an anti-dandruff shampoo to fix a flaky scalp problem, however, well known shampoo brands can be packed with harsh ingredients that may seem to fix a flaky scalp problem, but does not resolve the issue long-term.

After a little research on the subject, I found out that a lot of anti-dandruff shampoos contain ingredients which strip the hair of its natural oils, and as a result, your hair becomes oily again very quickly, and that means the itchy scalp and flakiness will return.

There are alternatives to your standard shop bought anti-dandruff shampoos, with a choice of organic brands using natural plant based ingredients. I have tried many, but with little success.

After years of trying to find the right shampoo for my delicate scalp, I think I might have found my potion solution.

This shampoo is probably one of the best that lathers up, at least out of the brands that sell haircare using mostly natural and ethical ingredients.

Speaking of ingredients, the key elements are: ginger root, birch bark, white willow and oak moss. In terms of other ingredients, you can the full list here. I can't say much for the other elements that make up Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo, but I'd like to think The Body Shop products would be better than most.

The question remains, does The Body Shop Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo, actually work? For me, it does. Having used the product for a good few months now, this is the first time I can say my scalp is not itchy nor flaky. Bonus points for its rather delicious smell.

Of course everyone is different and may not have as much success as I, but if you'd like to try it out for yourself, a 200ml bottle costs $15.95, which is not cheap, but from my experience, lasts quite a while when used moderately.
