All Natural Hand Scrub And Massage
My ten year old daughter came home from school recently and asked if I would like to be pampered with a hand scrub? I don’t need to tell you the answer to that question. In no time she had collected all the necessary ingredients and equipment and was ready to start.
It was a little humorous as she was being very serious, or should I say professional. Her first comment was ‘What I am using on you is all natural products available from the supermarket! That’s definitely a bonus. I have to say I was surprised by the result. The process felt great and my hands were silky smooth all day.
What you need
2 hand towels. One to rest your hand on and the other to dry the hand
5 ml olive oil
1 tablespoon of sugar (castor sugar for a smoother scrub)
1 bowl of luke warm water to rinse hand in
1 extra teaspoon olive oil for massage
Optional
a couple of drops of lavender or other oil, or a couple of pieces of rosemary for the massage oil
Method
1.Mix the olive oil and sugar (product) in a small shot glass.
2. The massager tips all the product onto their hands and then applies it to the ‘customer’.
3. This can be rubbed in for as long as desired (approximately 3 minutes).
4. The hands are washed off in the bowl of warm water.
5. The hands are then patted dry.
6. The final step is for the masseur to rub the extra scented oil into the hands.
Tips
Take off jewellery and roll up your sleeves before starting.
Rub gently. Even though the recommendation of my little masseur was to rub until it’s red, it was a bit rough for me and the results were excellent without the discomfort.
You could experiment with different scents by changing the oils or adding herbs or flowers. The latter need to soak in the oil for a short while.
This was an easy, cheap and fun activity. It can be done even when you don’t have much time. Have fun.
