Ayurveda Chyawanprash
Revered for the last two thousand years across India as an
'elixir' of life, health and well-being, this
Ayurvedic jam has certainly stood the test of time.
With a
sweet, spicy flavour,
chyawanprash benefits
all three doshas, and is said to rejuvenate and encourage the efficient functioning of the
reproductive and immune systems, tissues, heart and
lungs.

One serve will provide you with
35% of your daily
antioxidant intake, thanks to the
30 plus herbs and spices blended into its
amla fruit base.

Chyawanprash can be found in
Indian or
eastern supermarkets,
online, or in specialist
health food stores. Store bought varieties are usually made with
ghee (clarified butter), so is
not suitable for vegans or those on dairy-free diets. If you are
vegan or
lactose-intolerant, you will have to look for an appropriate variety, or consider the serious undertaking of learning how to
make your own!

It is recommended you consume chyawanprash simply
by itself or with a glass of
warm milk to reap the full benefits, but can also be used on
toast or crackers as with any other jam. Taking just
before breakfast or going to
bed is also ideal.
A
serve is considered to be around
1-2 teaspoons for adults, but start out with a smaller quantity and build up from there.
