Banana oat breakfast smoothie

A nutrient dense start to the day that will keep you fuelled until lunchtime, this simple and delicious smoothie provides you with protein, fibre, iron, magnesium, calcium, and vitamins C and B6.



Ingredients
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup milk of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 cups oats (soaked in water overnight or for a few minutes in boiled water)
  • handful of almonds (preferably soaked in water overnight or for a few minutes in boiling water)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or mixed spice

  • Method
  • Drain and rinse the almonds and oats through a sieve.

  • Oats and almonds soaked overnight


  • Add all ingredients to the blender and mix until a smooth consistency is reached.



  • Serve and enjoy!

  • Vegan variation
    Simply replace the honey with one pitted date.
