Chai Tapioca Dessert Treats


This warm dessert treat combines warming chai spices with tapioca to make an unusual and healthy winter surprise. Actually, you could serve this for breakfast or afternoon tea for something different.

Ingredients

1 tea bag (eg. English Breakfast)
3 slices of ginger
2 sticks of cinnamon
6 cardamon pods
10 cloves
2 pods star anise
2 cups filtered water
1/3 cup raw sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup tapioca

Chai Tea Ingredients


Method

  • Combine your favorite tea and chai spices (the first six ingredients) in a saucepan of filtered water and bring it gently to the boil.

  • Chai Tea


  • Add the milk, raw sugar and tapioca and continue simmering for twenty minutes, stirring continuously. You could use almond milk to make this recipe dairy free.

  • Add the tapioca


  • When the tapioca turns translucent, serve into bowls for a sweet, spicy, warm treat. You could also serve this as a cold dessert, topped with berries and nuts. Enjoy.
