Chakras Manipura
'Chakra' is a Sanskrit word meaning
'wheel' or
'disk', and is an integral thought in Ayurveda, meditation and yoga.
There are
seven main chakras in the body - from the
base of the spine to the
crown of the head - corresponding in location with major
nerve centres. These key points are believed to hold a
'vortex' of
subtle energy - ideally kept
free-flowing and in
balance.
Today we will look at the
navel chakra,
Manipura.

Manipura is located around the
navel/solar plexus, and is one of the two chakras of
relationships. It is responsible for our
personal power and
self esteem.
Its colour is
yellow, and bija mantra is
Ram.

Imbalances in the navel chakra may manifest in:
Low self esteem and/or feeling indecisive.
Anger and/or control issues.
Digestive and/or metabolic problems.
Concerns with the pancreas, liver and/or colon.
To
balance the navel chakra, try:
Practising positive and grounding self-affirmations.
Taking a walk in the sun, or sitting in front of a fireplace.
Surrounding yourself with yellow flowers, crystals, and/or enjoying yellow foods.
