Chakras Svadhisthana
'Chakra' is a Sanskrit word meaning
'wheel' or
'disk', and is an integral thought in Ayurveda, meditation and yoga.
There are
seven main chakras in the body - from the
base of the spine to the
crown of the head - corresponding in location with major
nerve centres. These key points are believed to hold a
'vortex' of
subtle energy - ideally kept
free-flowing and in
balance.
Today we will look at the
sacral chakra,
Svadhisthana.

Svadhisthana is located
between the navel and pubic bone, and is one of the two chakras of
matter and
manifestation. It is responsible for our
creativity,
sensuality, and
emotions.
Its colour is
orange, and bija mantra is
Vam.

Imbalances in the sacral chakra may manifest in:
Emotional instability and/or depression.
Addiction.
Problems with fertility and/or painful menstruation.
Complications with the pelvic floor, bladder and/or kidneys.
To
balance the sacral chakra, try:
Engaging in any creative activity - music, art, dance, cooking etc.
Practicing belly dancing, tai chi or wu chi.
Taking time to reflect on and address your feelings - maybe through journaling or talking to a trusted friend.
