Healthy tips to achieve a work life balance

To live a happy life and one that is stress free, the key is to strike a balance between work and pleasure. For some, achieving a work life balance can take a genuine shift in priorities, however once you get the balance back you’ll have mastered the art of working smarter and not just harder.

Here are some healthy tips to achieving a work life balance.

Be present
Whilst you are on the job, the aim is to keep your mind focused and be there in mind and body. You will work more productively as a result.

When you are at home, make sure you are really present too. Cut off from the daily grind and give your family and friends the attention they seek and deserve and you’ll find that the quality of time you then spend at home significantly improves.

Give it a try. By setting a clear boundary between work and home you’ll achieve a greater balance.



Establish a schedule
Taking time to note everything that needs to be achieved frees your mind. Whilst your to-do list may appear overwhelming at first, how you approach it and prioritise the tasks will ensure it is achievable, and you’ll be proactively deciding what is really important.

Flexible opportunities
Most organisations offer employees the opportunity to work within flexible conditions. It may be flexi-hours, job sharing or the ability to work remotely. These options give you the chance to have more control over the hours you work and enable you to be more productive at a time that best suits your situation. Ask the question to your manager. You may be surprised at the doors that open for you.

Seeking and working towards a balanced lifestyle will go a long way to ensuring your days are not full of stressful situations and ultimately you’ll be more fulfilled.

When you are happy, you are more fun to be around. Better still, the relationships you form with family, friends and colleagues will benefit and you’ll be more engaged when you are at work.
