Homemade hair gel
This natural haircare recipe is quick and easy to make, inexpensive, alcohol-free and gives my curls shine and definition.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 200 ml approximately
Ingredients
ΒΌ cup flaxseeds (also known as linseed)
2 cups water
Essential oils (optional)
Vitamin E oil (optional)
You will need
1 small saucepan
Kitchen tongs
Stocking or tights
A container with a lid
Method
Mix the flaxseeds and water in a saucepan on med-high heat. Stir continuously.
As the water begins to boil, the liquid will thicken and foam. Stop stirring and turn off the heat.
Strain the contents through a clean stocking into your container. Use a pair of tongs towards the end to squeeze through as much gel as possible.
Add a few drops of vitamin E oil and 3 drops of your favourite scented essential oils and mix thoroughly.
Your hair gel is now ready to use!
You can reuse the flaxseeds for one more batch. Cover and store both in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
