Proper gym cleanliness is the key to your physical health

Most of us are aware of the good effects that come after visiting a gym including losing weight, strengthening your body and enhancing your immune system. The negative side however remains a mystery to many of us. Do you know what the lack of proper gym sanitation can do to your health?



High contamination levels
The consequence of poorly maintained gym equipment goes beyond aesthetics. Germs and viruses can be spread over the fitness equipment by users. Dust can also cause allergies.

Dirty machines may not work effectively
Oil and dirt left behind not only damages the equipment padding, but also hampers the sensors that track heart rate and other statistics.

Gym cleanliness is partly the responsibility of users
Many fitness facilities find it unnecessary to hire special staff to maintain the cleanliness of the equipment. That is why most gyms provide special sprays or wet wipe intended for users to wipe the machines after every use.

Providing a proper cleaning product is as important as how it's used, because when used incorrectly, they become ineffective. I consider it obligatory to have signboards with instructions in every gym hall, so that members can learn the proper way to use it.



Usage of green cleaning products
Considering the frequent cleaning required for a fitness environment, it would be better to use more natural, human safe cleaning products, to guarantee a healthy experience to these members that use the detergents daily. Green cleaning means to keep both environment and people healthy. Green products would be beneficial for gym users and staff.
