There is something incredibly homely and comforting about a thick spread of jam across warm toast, or dolloped atop steaming porridge.

Unfortunately, however, commercial jams can actually be loaded with sugar and preservatives, far from the original source - fresh berries.
So next time you crave some jam, why not mash some fresh or frozen berries and mix with a drop of natural honey or maple syrup to sweeten?
