With a sedentary lifestyle now fairly commonplace, it has become more important than ever to keep and prioritise physical movement.

A simple but effective way to kick this off is to aim for 10,000 steps every day.

Ideas on how to encourage this include:
  • use public transport
  • take the stairs
  • walk to school/the shops/work etc. instead of driving
  • take a short walk during lunch or after dinner
  • deliberately be 'inefficient' around the home (eg. take out the bins in two journeys instead of one)
  • walk to speak to co-workers over email or calling
