Watermelon crushie
This is a simple and delicious crushie recipe which is perfect for a hot day when you might not feel much like eating, and just want something to help you cool down.
The watermelon has a high water content and contains potassium which can be lost in sweat on a hot day, especially if you have been working out.
Ingredients:
1 cup ice cubes
1 cup watermelon
1/2 cup apple juice
Method:
Cut watermelon into chunks, being careful to remove as many seeds as possible.

Place ice cubes along with watermelon pieces and apple juice into blender.

Blend until ice is crushed and watermelon is mixed, but not so much that it is pulverised into a mush.

Note: if you don't have a blender which is capable of crushing ice, you can try this instead - wrap ice in a clean tea towel and whack with a hammer or similar until crushed into slithers, then put in the blender along with other ingredients to finish off.
